KARACHI: Provincial Adviser on Minority Affairs and Member of the Sindh Assembly Dr. Sham Sunder K. Advani on Thursday inaugurated the newly-completed Gurdwara Sahib Guru Arjun Dev Maharaj at Bhagwan Goth, cutting the ceremonial ribbon in the presence of elected representatives, PPP office-bearers and officials of the Minorities Affairs Department.
MPA Liaquat Ali Askani, attended as the guest of honour, while PPP minority-wing vice-presidents Mukhhi Odha Mal and Parvez Habib, senior leaders Sehar Hussain Paracha, Dewan Veero Mal, Bhagwan Das and a large number of Sikh devotees were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Advani said the project had been executed “within the stipulated period and without compromising on quality or transparency”.
“Every brick and every rupee spent here is accounted for,” he told the gathering, adding that the Sindh government had delivered on its commitment to the Sikh Sangat.
He congratulated the community on the restoration of their place of worship and reiterated that all development schemes being undertaken by the Minorities Affairs Department across the province would be completed on time and to the highest standard.
“Quality and transparency are non-negotiable,” he said. “The PPP leadership and Chief Minister Sindh have a clear principle: the people must get every facility they are promised, without delay or dilution.”
