QUETTA: In all 2,710 nomination papers were accepted while 440 rejected out of total 3,150 filed for contesting local government elections in all four towns of Quetta Metropolitan Corporation as the process of scrutiny completed the other day.
It may be mentioned here that the nomination papers were filed for elections on 641 general seats of the wards fall in all four town municipal corporations (TMCs).
According to the sources of Election Commission of Pakistan, in all 943 nomination papers were filed in TMC Zarghoon, out of which 767 papers were accepted and 176 were rejected.
Similarly, a total of 703 nomination papers were filed in TMC Chiltan. Out of these, a total of 616 nomination papers were accepted and 87 were rejected while in all 561 papers were filed in TMC Saryab out of which, 483 were accepted and 78 were rejected.
Whereas some 943 nomination papers were filed in TMC Takatu out of which, 844 papers were accepted and 99 were rejected.
As per the schedule, last date for filing of appeals against the decisions of Returning Officers about rejecting / accepting of the nomination papers has been fixed as November 28, 2025.
December 3, 2025 is the last date for deciding of appeals by the Appellate Tribunal.
The revised list of candidates would be published on December 4, 2025.
December 5, 2025 has been fixed for withdrawal of candidature and publication of the revised list of candidates to be in run for the local government polls in Quetta.
The allotment of election symbols to the contesting candidates and publication of their list would be on December 6, 2025.
The polling is scheduled to be held on December 28, 2025 (Sunday).
