Diamer Youth Empowered Through ‘Start Your Business’ Initiative and Skills Programs

Chilas: A joint initiative by AKRSP Diamer Program Office and Karakoram International University (KIU) Diamer Campus successfully concluded a business gala and check distribution event under the “Start Your Business” program. The event aimed to create awareness among Diamer’s youth about entrepreneurial opportunities, promote skill development, and take practical steps toward reducing unemployment.

During the ceremony, financial support checks were distributed to 33 young entrepreneurs to kickstart their businesses. Additionally, a formal MoU was signed between KIU and AKRSP to provide three-month short courses under the ECD program, enhancing youth professional capabilities.

The business gala also featured multiple stalls showcasing modern business trends, learning opportunities, and market insights. Participants included AKRSP Diamer Program Manager Pyar Ali, KIU Vice Chancellor Attaullah Shah, Assistant Director Diamer Astor Division Shafqat Mehmood, heads of government and private institutions, media representatives, academics, students, and local traders. The collaborative effort was hailed as a significant step toward socio-economic development and youth empowerment in Diamer.
