Jiwani, Balochistan – Local fishermen in Jiwani and Tel Sar protested against illegal diesel unloading along the coast, citing disruption to traditional fishing and environmental damage. In response, the administration imposed a complete ban on diesel unloading from Jiwani Jetty to Tel Sar. Assistant Director Fisheries Jiwani, Basheer Ahmed Kakr, visited the protest camp, met the fishermen’s delegation, and assured strict action against violators. All speedboat owners involved in illegal activities have received official notices. The enforcement will follow the Balochistan Fisheries Ordinance 1971 and its 2022 amendments. Pakistan Coast Guards, PMSA, police, local administration, and municipal authorities will cooperate fully to ensure compliance. Following the assurances, fishermen called off their protest and pledged support for enforcement measures. Officials including SHO Jiwani Khalid, Fisheries Officer Abdul Khaliq, and Inspector Tahir were present.
