Peshawar/Islamabad, 3 December 2025:
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has strongly condemned the bomb attack on a police mobile in Dera Ismail Khan, expressing deep sorrow over the martyrdom of three police personnel—ASI Gul Alam, Constable Rafiq, and driver Sakhi Jan. The CM praised their bravery, stating that their supreme sacrifice has made the nation proud. He emphasized that KP’s police continue to fight terrorism on the frontlines despite limited resources and vowed that the perpetrators of this cowardly attack will be brought to justice. CM Afridi assured full support to the families of the martyrs and prayed for the elevation of their ranks.

Meanwhile, CM Afridi chaired a high-level preparatory meeting ahead of the upcoming National Finance Commission (NFC) session. The meeting included senior PTI leaders, advisors, and top provincial officials. The CM received a detailed briefing on the province’s financial and constitutional rights, particularly regarding the erstwhile merged districts of former FATA. According to the briefing, since the merger, Rs 1,375 billion is due to the province under NFC allocations, but only Rs 168 billion has been released, leaving Rs 531.9 billion pending. CM Afridi reaffirmed the province’s commitment to vigorously defend KP’s financial and constitutional entitlements at all forums, highlighting the ongoing delay as a violation of Article 160 of the Constitution.
