University of Sargodha Calls for Annual Activity Plan to Energise CAREC Think Tank Network

ISLAMABAD — The University of Sargodha (UoS) has proposed a structured annual plan to revitalize collaboration among members of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Think Tank Network, advocating regular thematic engagements on key regional challenges.

The proposal was presented at the Ninth CAREC Think Tank Development Forum in Urumqi, where Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas represented Pakistan’s academic sector.
UoS recommended quarterly virtual or hybrid dialogues covering green financing, climate resilience, food security, digital transformation and regional connectivity.

The university also called for specialized working groups focusing on trade and transport, the green economy, digital innovation and human capital development. Prof. Abbas stressed the need for joint policy briefs, rapid analytical updates and targeted research to strengthen the network’s visibility and impact.
