ISLAMABAD, Dec 3 — President Asif Ali Zardari, in a message marking the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to protecting the rights, dignity and full inclusion of persons with disabilities.

The President said that ensuring accessible education, healthcare and mobility remained a national priority, adding that ongoing measures included improved certification processes, a special logo on national identity cards, and streamlined access to social protection programmes. He noted that enhancing employment opportunities and removing physical, social and attitudinal barriers were essential for building a fair and inclusive society.

President Zardari urged the nation to respect the identity and contribution of persons with disabilities, calling their participation in education, business and national development vital for Pakistan’s future. He emphasized the need for a country where every citizen enjoys equal access and opportunity.
