QUETTA — December 4, 2025
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Balochistan marked International Anti-Corruption Day 2025 with a seminar and awareness walk at the NAB Complex in Quetta, underscoring renewed institutional commitment to transparency and accountability. The event brought together university faculty, students, senior government officials and media representatives. Senior Member Board of Revenue Qambar Dashti and Secretary Revenue Virender Lal also attended.
DG NAB Balochistan Nauman Aslam, in his keynote address, said corruption remains the biggest impediment to national development, eroding governance and public trust. He said NAB, acting on Chairman Lt Gen (R) Nazir Ahmad Butt’s directives, is focusing on mega corruption cases and discouraging frivolous complaints to improve institutional efficiency.
The DG announced a major milestone: the recovery and transfer of more than one million acres of state forest land—valued at over Rs1.3 trillion—to the Forest Department, calling it an unprecedented achievement in Balochistan’s history. The Chief Minister formally commended the NAB team, praising the professionalism of DG Nauman Aslam and investigating officer Deputy Director Malik Waheed Ahmed.
Winners of debates, essays, art and short-film contests were awarded certificates and prizes. The DG urged youth, academia and the media to strengthen transparency narratives, adding that collective resolve can make a corruption-free Pakistan a reality.
