LAHORE – December 4, 2025
Punjab’s Counter Narcotics Force (CNF) has delivered significant results in just three months, reflecting Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s zero-tolerance policy toward drug networks. Chairing a performance review meeting, Secretary Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control Muhammad Masood Mukhtar said the CNF carried out 269 intelligence-based operations since August, seizing more than 13.2 tons of narcotics worth nearly Rs. 310 million.
The crackdown also led to the arrest of hundreds of suspects, registration of 156 FIRs, and recovery of 56 illegal weapons, 11 quadcopters, and equipment used by drug syndicates. He described the recent 14-year convictions of two major Faisalabad traffickers as a landmark judicial step.
The Secretary urged citizens to report drug activity via the 24/7 helpline 1012, reaffirming the government’s commitment to a drug-free Punjab.
