Cultural Day in Matiari Celebrated with Traditional Fervor and Colorful Festivities

Matiari, along with communities across the world, celebrated Sindh Cultural Day with great enthusiasm and vibrant festivities. The city was brought alive with colorful events, rallies, and cultural activities, reflecting the rich heritage of Sindh.

Hosted by the Matiari City Press Club, a cultural camp was set up in front of the press club, drawing citizens from morning until evening. Visitors were warmly welcomed by journalists dressed in traditional Ajrak, while cultural stalls, artworks, and live displays added a festive atmosphere.

People from Matiari and nearby towns, villages, and settlements, including children, youth, women, and elders, participated in rallies adorned in traditional Ajrak, Sindhi caps, and attire. Many young participants carried traditional musical instruments such as Kuhriyas and shields, while Sindhi songs and dances, including Jhummar, added vibrancy to the celebrations.

Rallies organized by Sindhi nationalist and political groups, including JSQM Arisar, JSQM Shaheed Bashir Khan, and the Qaumi Awami Tehreek, arrived at the cultural camp with drums, music, and slogans, transforming city streets and markets into a hub of cultural festivity.

The event also featured a delegation from the Sindhi Adabi Sangat, adding literary and intellectual prestige. Prominent figures spoke on Sindhi language, history, heritage, and traditions.

Throughout the day, traditional dances, Sindhi songs, Ajrak, caps, and cultural attire turned Matiari into a vivid display of Sindh’s rich civilization.
