Uzbekistan Welcomes Pakistani Athletes, Pledges Sports Cooperation

KARACHI: Uzbekistan’s doors remain open for Pakistani athletes, with the country encouraging collaboration in the sports sector, Ambassador Alisher Tukhtaev has affirmed. He made these remarks during a meeting with Rais Khan, CEO of RK Sports Management, at a local auditorium in Karachi. Albina Murtaza was also present.

During the meeting, Rais Khan briefed the Ambassador on RK Sports Management’s activities, highlighting successful events in football, hockey, cricket, padel, squash, marathon, and boxing. “Our goal is to support talented athletes, particularly women, and showcase their skills globally,” he said. He also shared that RK Sports Management recently became a member of the European Football Agents Association, a milestone that will facilitate Pakistani players’ opportunities to compete in Europe.

Rais Khan emphasized the long-standing ties between Pakistan and Uzbekistan and expressed RK Sports Management’s intent to expand sports cooperation. A delegation from the organization will soon visit Uzbekistan to discuss arrangements for upcoming sports events.

Ambassador Tukhtaev lauded Pakistan’s achievements in global sports and reiterated Uzbekistan’s support for Pakistani companies seeking collaboration in the field. He highlighted relaxed visa requirements for Pakistani citizens and the launch of direct flights between the two countries.

“By enhancing cooperation across multiple sectors, Pakistan and Uzbekistan can achieve significant economic progress. Our doors are always open for Pakistani investors, industrialists, and athletes,” the Ambassador concluded.
