Independent Report
Quetta, Dec 8, 2025: Commissioner Quetta Division, Shahzaib Khan Kakr, chaired a meeting of the Divisional Task Force to review the overall polio situation in Quetta Block. The session was attended by Deputy Commissioners of Quetta and Pishin, focal persons of the Divisional Task Force, district health officers, and representatives from UNICEF, One Stop, and WHO, while the Deputy Commissioners of Qilla Abdullah and Chaman joined online.
The meeting reviewed micro-plans, team training, monitoring, and overall coverage. Quetta Block has been identified as highly sensitive due to high population density, cold regions, mobility challenges, and high-risk union councils. Over 748,000 children are targeted for vaccination, with more than 5,500 polio workers deployed.
The Commissioner emphasized strict measures against staff obstructing the campaign and directed special strategies for missing children, zero-dose cases, and high-risk areas. He underlined that the polio drive is a national responsibility and must be conducted efficiently, transparently, and comprehensively to protect future generations.
