Madinah, Saudi Arabia — December 9, 2025: Heavy rains persisted for the second consecutive day in Madinah and surrounding areas, causing a further drop in temperatures. In the coastal city of Yanbu, torrential downpours wreaked havoc, with several building roofs collapsing and multiple vehicles damaged under debris.
The severe rainfall, accompanied by thunder, lightning, and strong winds, has affected both urban and surrounding areas. Desert and low-lying regions were flooded, and shopping centers and homes sustained damage. The Civil Defense Department has advised residents and visitors to avoid unnecessary travel.
Floodwaters have filled desert valleys, and water accumulation has been reported in low-lying areas. Authorities have urged citizens to exercise caution due to fast-flowing waters in several locations.
