Peshawar, Dec 9: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister chaired a crucial meeting of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Peshawar to review the department’s performance, reforms, recruitment, and infrastructure development.
The CM granted approval in principle to convert 186 CTD detectives into 638 permanent field operators. The new operators will conduct cyber patrolling, intelligence gathering, surveillance, and field operations. Approval was also given for the establishment of new CTD regional headquarters in Peshawar.
The meeting revived frozen development projects to construct CTD offices across 21 districts, with an estimated cost of PKR 4.3 billion. Additionally, PKR 7.77 billion was approved for CTD vehicles, weapons, and modern equipment.
Officials emphasized strict implementation of reforms, recruitment, and infrastructure development according to timelines, with full adherence to safety protocols.
