Nairobi, Kenya, Dec 13, 2025: Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Dr. Musadik Malik participated in a high-level Leadership Dialogue on the sidelines of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA), focusing on the growing link between environmental degradation and global financial stability.

The dialogue, titled “The Bottom Line: Why Tackling Environmental Degradation Is Critical to the Future of the Global Financial System,” brought together global leaders, policymakers, financial regulators, and experts to discuss system-wide approaches for aligning financial flows with climate action and sustainability goals.

Speaking at the forum, Dr. Malik warned that environmental degradation poses systemic risks to the global financial system and stressed that addressing climate change is a shared global responsibility. He highlighted the urgent need for accessible and equitable climate finance for countries most affected by climate impacts despite their minimal contribution to global emissions.

The minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to climate-resilient development and called for stronger international cooperation, policy coherence, and responsible private sector engagement to ensure financial stability and environmental sustainability advance together.
