KP Food Authority Seizes Substandard Ketchup, Imposes Heavy Fines

Peshawar/Haripur, December 16, 2025: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority (KPFS&HFA) has intensified its enforcement drive across the province, seizing and destroying hundreds of kilograms of substandard and unsafe food items, including ketchup, during operations in Peshawar and Haripur.

In Peshawar, the Town-I Food Safety Team, in coordination with the district administration, raided a warehouse on Phandu Road, recovering 1,500 kg of low-quality food products, including expired chemicals and substandard ketchup. Legal action has been initiated against the violators.

In Haripur, a ketchup manufacturing unit in the Hattar Industrial Estate was inspected, resulting in the seizure of 750 kg of substandard ketchup pulp and 80 kg of low-quality vinegar. The items were destroyed on-site, and heavy fines were imposed on the factory owners.
