Pakistan Records Economic Stability, Industrial Growth, and Job Creation: Ahsan Iqbal

Federal Minister for Planning, Professor Ahsan Iqbal, highlighted Pakistan’s positive economic performance from July to November 2025 in the fiscal year 2025-26. Inflation averaged 5 percent, down from 7.9 percent last year, signaling improved price stability. Large-scale manufacturing (LSM) grew by 4.1 percent, reflecting a revival in industrial activity.

FBR tax collections reached Rs 4,733 billion, marking a 10.2 percent increase. IT services exports rose 19 percent to $1.8 billion, while remittances increased to $16.1 billion, a 9.3 percent growth. Development spending released Rs 196 billion in this quarter, with Rs 92 billion already utilized.

In November, the CDWP approved 10 development projects, and six major projects were forwarded to ECNEC. Cost-cutting measures saved Rs 3.3 billion from July to October 2025. The projects are expected to create 994 immediate jobs and approximately 24,859 direct and 40,873 indirect employment opportunities.

Minister Iqbal emphasized environmental sustainability, making the Green Building Code mandatory for all future projects. Under ‘Udaan Pakistan,’ partnerships with Oxford and Cambridge universities promote research, innovation, and technology. Over 20,000 youth are being trained in modern IT skills, generating more than 14,000 new jobs.
