DIG Kalat Highlights Minority Rights, Safe City Project

DIG Kalat Range, Waizir Khan Nasser, emphasized that minority rights in Pakistan are equal to those of other citizens and their protection is a key government policy. He made the remarks while addressing an open court at Police Lines Uthal.

He said that under the Safe City Project, cameras are being installed in major cities including Kalat, Khuzdar, and others. The GDPC building in Uthal, Lasbela, is complete, and Safe City cameras will soon be installed on the main RCD Highway to aid crime control.

DIG Nasser stated that strict action will be taken against elements involved in drug trafficking and smuggling without discrimination. Regarding the Iranian diesel ban, he clarified it is a provincial matter. While Lasbela does not currently require the immediate deployment of the ATF, armored vehicles and ATF presence may be considered based on public demand.

He credited local cooperation with police as a major factor in the district’s low crime rate and urged citizens to use mobile phones to obtain CDRs quickly. During the session, citizens raised various issues, which were assured immediate resolution.

Deputy Commissioner Lasbela, SSP Lasbela, Chairman District Council, Assistant Commissioner Bela, local elders, minority leaders, and numerous police officials attended the event.
