Islamabad – President Asif Ali Zardari approved the de-notification of Islamabad High Court Judge Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri on the advice of the Prime Minister. The Ministry of Law and Justice formally removed the judge following a court ruling declaring his appointment illegal. The decision follows Islamabad High Court’s directive, noting that Justice Jahangiri’s selection did not comply with legal and constitutional requirements. The de-notification process now completes the legal procedure for the judge’s removal. The ruling reinforces judicial adherence to constitutional appointments and clarifies the accountability mechanisms in the judiciary. Legal experts hailed the move as a step toward upholding institutional integrity and reinforcing procedural compliance in judicial appointments. The government confirmed all actions were undertaken following due legal and constitutional protocols, ensuring transparency in judicial administration.
