Quetta, December 19, 2025:
Pashtunkhwa Students Organization (PSO) leaders have expressed serious concern over difficulties faced by Pakistani students studying in Afghanistan due to the continued closure of border crossings along the Durand Line.
PSO Zonal Secretary Waris Afghan, along with Mirstyal Secretary Aimal Sarwan and members of the zonal executive, said students wish to return home during winter vacations but are unable to do so because land routes remain closed. They noted that air travel is unaffordable for most students, leaving them under severe mental and financial stress.
The organization urged federal and provincial governments to take immediate steps to facilitate the safe return of students to their homes. They specifically demanded the temporary opening of all border crossings on an emergency basis to allow students to reunite with their families during the winter break.
