Independent Report
By Sardar Khundai Chaman: The first snowfall of the winter season has blanketed the Kojak Top mountains and adjoining ranges, including Kan Mehterzai and nearby high-altitude areas of district Chaman, marking a seasonal shift in weather across northern Balochistan.
Despite the snowfall, the Quetta–Chaman Highway remains open for all types of traffic due to timely and coordinated efforts by the district administration, Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), and National Highway Authority (NHA). Snow-clearing operations are ongoing on key routes to ensure uninterrupted movement and public safety.
Officials said machinery has been deployed in vulnerable areas, while coordination among departments continues to prevent road blockages. Meanwhile, intermittent rain and snowfall have persisted for the past two days in several districts of Balochistan, lowering temperatures and increasing cold conditions across the province.
