Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) Police in Tando Adam carried out a major operation after receiving intelligence that drug users and their alleged facilitators were in possession of police uniforms. Acting on the information, the Eagle Squad conducted a raid near the old Nadra office area and arrested several individuals addicted to crystal meth (ice).
According to police sources, a 15-member Eagle Squad team detained multiple suspects and recovered police uniforms, caps and other related items from their possession. The police said the suspects were allegedly using the uniforms to impersonate law enforcement personnel, mislead citizens and potentially facilitate criminal activities.
During initial interrogation, the arrested suspects revealed that the police uniforms had been provided to them through an accomplice. Authorities have launched further investigations to determine how official uniforms reached unauthorised individuals and to identify all those involved in the illegal supply.
The police stated that cases will be registered against the arrested suspects under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act and other relevant sections of the law. Strict legal action will also be taken against anyone found involved in the illegal sale or distribution of police uniforms.
Meanwhile, residents of Tando Adam have welcomed the timely police action and called for stricter measures to prevent the misuse of police uniforms and to bring all responsible parties to justice.
