Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) The 18th death anniversary of revered spiritual leader Jeeto Ram Maharaj was observed with religious devotion and reverence at the Rama Pir Temple in Sochi locality of Tando Adam on Sunday.
The event was organised by the Pooj Hindu Jain Guru Sochi Panchayat and was attended by a large number of devotees from different cities of Sindh, including Hyderabad, Nawabshah, Mirpurkhas, Moro, Dadu and Bandhi.
As part of the commemorations, a kalash yatra was taken out, while the foundation stone of Jeeto Ram Maharaj’s statue was also laid at the temple premises. The organisers made special arrangements for satsang and kirtan, during which devotees paid tribute to the spiritual teachings of the saint.
Addressing the gathering, Hindu Panchayat leader Leela Ram Premi welcomed the guests and thanked them for their participation. He said that Jeeto Ram Maharaj belonged to Nagaur city in India and that his death anniversary was observed every year as a mark of devotion and respect. He added that the saint preached love, peace, tolerance and brotherhood for all humanity, and stressed that followers were striving to act upon his teachings by serving humanity.
Prominent participants included Om Parkash Dewra, Teerath Das, Hari Ram, Bhagwandas and Tehal Ram, among others. Special prayers were offered for peace, development and prosperity of the country.
The organisers also appreciated the local administration for making adequate security arrangements. At the conclusion of the ceremony, bhandara (communal food) was arranged for the devotees.
