Islamabad: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) carried out six intelligence-based operations across the country, arresting four suspects, including a woman, and seizing 304.33 kilograms of narcotics worth more than Rs 786 million, a spokesperson said on Wednesday.
During operations near educational institutions, 70 psychotropic tablets (30 grams) were recovered from a suspect near a hotel in G-9, Islamabad, while 1.2 kg hashish was seized from a woman near Shamkot Toll Plaza, Khanewal. The arrested suspects confessed to selling drugs to students of educational institutions.
In an international drug interdiction, 300 kg of ice concealed in animal feed was recovered from a container at Karachi Port destined for Qatar.
In domestic operations, 2 kg of ice was seized from a truck near a park on Ring Road, Peshawar, while 100 grams of hashish was recovered from a parcel at a courier office on Ring Road sent to Lahore.
In an inter-provincial operation, 1 kg of hashish was recovered near Old Toll Plaza, Indus Highway, Kohat.
Cases have been registered under the CNSA-1997, and investigations are underway.
