Islamabad: Police Announce Foolproof Security, Traffic Plan for Christmas and Quaid-e-Azam Day

Islamabad Police have finalized comprehensive security and traffic arrangements for Christmas and Quaid-e-Azam Day across the federal capital. A total of 3,500 police officers and personnel are deployed district-wide, while more than 200 Islamabad Traffic Police officers are on duty to ensure smooth traffic flow at key roads, parks, and recreational areas.
Armed personnel have been stationed at Christian worship places, with additional contingents deployed at sensitive churches. DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq is personally supervising all security duties. Continuous monitoring of events is being carried out through Islamabad Safe City cameras, alongside enhanced patrolling around churches and Christian localities.
SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza remained active in the field, visited churches, reviewed security measures, and met church management. He said Islamabad Police are committed to protecting all faiths without discrimination and ensuring peace, tolerance, and religious harmony.
Traffic Advisory:
On December 25, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, diversions will be enforced on Express Highway and Srinagar Highway. Citizens are advised to allow an extra 20–25 minutes for travel. For guidance and updates, commuters may contact Traffic Helpline 1915 or Pukar-15.
