Independent Report
Jacobabad:
Jacobabad has effectively turned into a criminals’ city, with daylight robberies and armed attacks underscoring serious police negligence and alleged collusion that has given criminals a free hand, residents say.
In Dungar Mohalla, unidentified thieves looted the home of Sanjay Kumar, a member of the Hindu minority, stealing 2.5 tolas of gold and Rs150,000 in cash in broad daylight. Separately, near the Baga Muhammad Jakhrani police station limits, armed robbers opened fire during a motorcycle snatching attempt, injuring two relatives. One victim remains in critical condition and was referred to Larkana.
Local traders and citizens accuse the police of inaction, delayed response, and tacit support to criminal elements. They say repeated incidents without arrests reflect systemic failure. Calls are growing for an independent inquiry, immediate arrests, and concrete steps to restore law and order in the city.
