Independent Report
Sakrand (Report: Raj Kumar Od) – Non-custom cigarettes, Indian intoxicating products, and other smuggled goods are being openly sold in Sakrand and nearby towns of Shaheed Benazirabad district. Sources allege these illegal operations are running with the tacit support of elements within the police department, allowing smugglers to operate freely.
The trade is causing huge losses to the national treasury and endangering public health, particularly among the youth, with heart, lung, and cancer-related illnesses on the rise. Civic groups and residents have expressed outrage over the inaction of authorities and demanded immediate crackdown, a ban on smuggled goods, and strict legal action against all involved.
