Peaceful protesters in Dera Murad Jamali accused the local police of excessive force, citing harassment and physical assault on women and elderly participants. Activist Shabnam Umarani stated that the SHO of the local police station acted arbitrarily, violating both constitutional rights and cultural norms by using force to suppress peaceful demonstrations. Protesters were demanding basic civic amenities when police blocked their path and unleashed violence. Umarani condemned the actions as an abuse of state power and urged the Chief Minister, IG Police, and senior authorities to take immediate action against the officers responsible. She warned that failure to address the issue would be seen as tacit approval of brutality, while citizens remain committed to continuing peaceful advocacy until justice is achieved and their rights protected.
