Chairperson Child Protection Bureau Sarah Ahmed Visits Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA)

Lahore, 29 December 2025: Chairperson of Child Protection Bureau Ms. Sarah Ahmed, and Member of Provincial Assembly Punjab, visited the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA), where she was warmly received by Chief Operating Officer (COO) PSCA, Mustansar Feroz. During the visit, Ms. Sarah Ahmed reviewed operational mechanism of various PSCA centers, including Virtual Center for Child Safety and Virtual Women Police Station. The spokesperson said that COO PSCA provided a comprehensive briefing on the working, technological infrastructure, and performance of different sections, highlighting PSCA’s role in ensuring public safety through modern, technology-driven solutions.

The spokesperson said that Ms. Sarah Ahmed appreciated the initiative of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, for establishing Virtual Center for Child Safety, terming it a commendable step towards strengthening child protection mechanisms across the province. The spokesperson added that Chairperson of Child Protection Bureau announced that an MoU will be signed between the Child Protection Bureau and the Punjab Safe Cities Authority to enhance mutual cooperation and coordination between the two institutions. She added that under this collaboration, a centralized database will be developed jointly to facilitate efficient tracing and recovery of missing children.

The Chairperson further stated that cases of children who became victims of abuse or exploitation and are referred by the Safe City Authority will be provided psychological counseling through qualified child psychologists at the Child Protection Bureau. Managing Director PSCA, while speaking on the occasion, stated that through joint efforts of the Virtual Center for Child Safety and the Child Protection Bureau, thousands of missing and abandoned children have already been successfully reunited with their families. He added that information regarding child-related calls received at the Virtual Center for Child Safety will be systematically shared with the Child Protection Bureau to ensure timely intervention and facilitation.

MD PSCA also announced that an integrated system will be developed between Police Emergency Helpline 15 and Child Helpline 1121 to further strengthen child protection and emergency response services. He emphasized that collaborative initiatives between PSCA and the Child Protection Bureau have led to a significant reduction in incidents of child harassment and exploitation cases. The spokesperson stated that the visit concluded with a reaffirmation of commitment from both institutions to work together for the safety, protection and well-being of children across Punjab through effective coordination and usage of AI based advanced technology.
