The 50th Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Polo and Tent Pegging Championship 2025 concluded with an impressive closing ceremony at the historic Jinnah Polo Fields, Lahore, as reported by ISPR. The prestigious annual event drew wide attention from sports enthusiasts and military circles alike.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of the Army Staff and Chief of Defence Force, graced the ceremony as the chief guest. The event was also attended by the Minister of Interior, Chief Secretary Punjab, senior military officers, civil officials, and a large number of spectators. Upon his arrival, the COAS was warmly received by the Corps Commander Lahore and the Chairman of the Pakistan Polo Federation.
The championship reflected the Pakistan Army’s deep-rooted traditions of sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork, and physical excellence. A total of eight teams representing different corps participated, showcasing high standards of professional riding skills and competitive spirit throughout the tournament.
After a series of closely contested matches, Peshawar Corps emerged as champions, while Gujranwala Corps secured the runners-up position. During the closing ceremony, the chief guest distributed trophies and prizes among the winning and participating teams, appreciating their dedication and performance. The event concluded on a festive note, reinforcing the Army’s commitment to promoting traditional sports and healthy competition.
