PESHAWAR: The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) has carried out another successful intelligence-based operation against drug trafficking, recovering a large quantity of hashish and arresting an accused in Peshawar.
According to an ANF spokesperson, the operation targeted an organized Drug Trafficking Organization active in Peshawar and Bara, involved in transporting narcotics from Peshawar to Malakand through various carriers. Acting on confirmed intelligence, ANF officials intercepted a suspicious Suzuki Mehran near Abdara Cricket Ground on Railway Line Road.
During the search, eight packets of hashish were recovered from a loudspeaker box skillfully concealed inside the vehicle. Each packet weighed 1,200 grams, bringing the total recovered narcotics to 9.6 kilograms. The driver, a resident of Peshawar, was arrested on the spot.
A case has been registered under the Control of Narcotics Substances Act, 1997, and further investigations are underway to apprehend other members of the network. The spokesperson reaffirmed ANF’s zero-tolerance policy against narcotics.
