Federal Minister and President PML N KP, Engr Amir Muqam distributed laptops among students under the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme at Shangla University
Shangla, January 3: Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON and President of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Engineer Amir Muqam, distributed laptops among 45 students under the Prime Minister’s Laptop
Scheme at Shangla University and congratulated the successful students.
On this occasion, Federal Minister and President PML-N Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Engineer Amir Muqam also inaugurated a modern Digital Smart Classroom at Shangla University.
While addressing the ceremony, Engineer Amir Muqam said that he had come on behalf of the Prime Minister and that the government is fully committed to equipping youth with modern education and technology. He appreciated the efforts of Chairman Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, for youth welfare, stating that the current government is taking practical steps to empower young people.
He said that the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme has played a significant role in providing better opportunities for education, skills development and employment to the youth. He emphasized that youth are the most valuable asset of any country and that guiding them in the right direction guarantees national development.
The Federal Minister stated that the issues faced by Shangla University would be resolved on a priority basis and that the institution would be developed as a role model university. Praising the Prime Minister’s development vision and educational reforms, he said that the Laptop Scheme is a practical example of youth empowerment.
Highlighting the Prime Minister’s economic policies, Engineer Amir Muqam said that the current government is taking effective measures for economic recovery, reduction in inflation and creation of employment opportunities, the positive results of which are becoming evident.
He paid tribute to the sacrifices of the Pakistan Army and security forces, saying that the everlasting sacrifices of martyrs for the establishment of peace in the country are unforgettable. He praised the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and acknowledged his services.
Criticizing the provincial government, the Federal Minister said that serious governance issues exist in the province which require urgent attention. He reiterated his resolve to continue serving the people of Shangla—his native area—and to play an active role in the region’s development in the future as well.
Addressing the Digital Smart Classroom inauguration ceremony, Engineer Amir Muqam said that providing digital facilities in educational institutions in accordance with modern-day requirements is the need of the hour. He said that the establishment of digital smart classrooms will provide students with quality education through modern technology and will enhance teaching and research processes.
He added that the government is taking comprehensive steps to promote higher education and improve educational facilities.
Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Sardar Khan thanked the Federal Minister and said that the establishment of a Digital Smart Classroom at Shangla University would play an important role in further improving academic standards. He said that this modern facility would enable both teachers and students to benefit from contemporary teaching methodologies.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the chief guest visited various departments of the university and expressed keen interest in academic activities.
Earlier, upon his arrival at Shangla University, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON, and President PML-N Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Engineer Amir Muqam was given a warm welcome. Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Sardar Khan, faculty members and senior university officials received the Federal Minister.
On the occasion, MPA Rashad Khan, PML-N District President Intikhab Alam, Haji Farhad, Sabir Rehman, Zahoor Elahi, Ghareeb Gul and other party office-bearers were also present.
A large number of university teachers and staff were also in attendance. Later, the Vice Chancellor briefed the Federal Minister in detail about the university’s academic activities, ongoing development projects, challenges and future goals. The briefing also highlighted educational facilities, research projects and student welfare initiatives at the university.
Appreciating the role of Shangla University, Engr Amir Muqam said that such institutions are vital for the promotion of higher education. He assured full cooperation for the university’s development and praised the efforts of faculty and administration. At the end of the visit, the Federal Minister inspected various departments of the university and participated in a commemorative tree plantation.
Federal Minister and President PML-N Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Engineer Amir Muqam planted a sapling on the lawn of Shangla University. Emphasizing the importance of tree plantation, he said that environmental protection and educational development are closely linked.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Federal Minister reaffirmed full support for further promotion of the university’s academic and research activities.
