Quetta: Mir Ubaidullah Gorgage, Member of the Balochistan Assembly from PB-44 and senior leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Balochistan, paid heartfelt tribute to Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto on his birth anniversary, highlighting his enduring legacy as a transformative leader of the subcontinent.
Speaking on the occasion, Mir Gorgage said Shaheed Bhutto redefined politics in Pakistan by empowering ordinary citizens and transforming governance from an elite-controlled system into a movement driven by the people. “He gave a voice to workers, farmers, students, and marginalized communities, instilling awareness about their fundamental rights,” he added.
Mir Gorgage underscored Shaheed Bhutto’s landmark achievements, including the unanimous 1973 Constitution, the concept of provincial autonomy, Pakistan’s strengthened stature in the Islamic world, and a foreign policy rooted in national dignity and self-respect. He noted that these accomplishments continue to shape Pakistan’s democratic framework and serve as the foundation of the PPP’s ideology.
Recalling the sacrifices of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, he said that she courageously upheld her father’s vision, resisting dictatorship and striving tirelessly for the restoration of democracy. He further emphasized that development initiatives, public representation, and political awareness in Balochistan today are a direct continuation of Shaheed Bhutto’s philosophy.
