CJ Inaugurates Major Judicial Infrastructure Projects in District

KARACHI/DADU: Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court, Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput, paid an official visit to Dadu district, including Johi and Dadu city, where he inaugurated several important projects related to judicial facilities and infrastructure. These initiatives aim to improve public access to justice and align the judicial system with modern requirements.

Upon his arrival at the Dadu Judicial Complex, the Chief Justice was warmly received by members of the Bar Council.

He also visited the Johi Court Complex, where he formally inaugurated the construction of new court buildings. Addressing lawyers at the Johi Bar, bar office-bearers and district bar representatives presented him with traditional Sindhi Ajrak, , and cap as a mark of respect. On the occasion, District & Sessions Judge Dadu Zahid Hussain Maitlo, Senior Civil Judge Johi, and Second Civil Judge Johi, were also honored with Ajrak and caps by the Johi Bar office-bearers.

The Chief Justice later addressed lawyers from the Sehwan, Dadu, and Johi Bar Associations, thanking them for their warm hospitality and expressing gratitude for the Sindhi cultural gifts.

He stated that the world is moving towards paperless justice and emphasized the need to introduce modern technology in courts.

He acknowledged that dispensing justice in extremely hot regions like Dadu is a challenging task.

Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput inaugurated an e-library established for lawyers at the District Bar Association Dadu. He said the e-library would particularly benefit young lawyers by providing access to legal research material, judicial precedents, and updated legal information.

The e-library has been set up under the Access to Justice Development Fund (AJDF).

He announced multiple facilities for the Dadu Bar, including a 6 kW solar system, two air conditioners, water dispensers, and an e-library.

He further announced that for improving drafting skills, five lawyers from each tehsil bar would be invited to Karachi for specialized training.

The Chief Justice informed the lawyers about ongoing and proposed AJDF-funded projects in Dadu district. He said the process of providing air conditioners to all courts in the district is underway to ensure a better working environment for judges, lawyers, court staff, and litigants.

He added that projects for e-kiosks, steel electric water coolers with filtration systems, water dispensers, solar systems, and judicial and legal libraries are at various stages of implementation.

He also shared that under AJDF, facilities such as solar systems, e-kiosks, air conditioners, water coolers with filtration, and water dispensers are being provided to the District Bar Association Dadu. Similar projects are underway for courts and bar associations at the taluka headquarters level, particularly in Mehar and Johi, which will significantly improve judicial infrastructure and public facilities.

Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput stated that all these initiatives are being implemented in line with the directives of the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Yahya Afridi, who is also Chairman of the Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan, with the objective of making the judicial system more effective, transparent, modern, and environmentally friendly.

Addressing young lawyers, the Chief Justice said that excellent opportunities exist for them, but becoming a competent lawyer requires dedication and hard work. The visit concluded with Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput planting a sapling in the court premises, symbolizing commitment to a greener and sustainable future.

On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Dadu Syed Murtaza Shah, SSP Dadu Ameer Saud Mangsi, and officers from various departments were also present.
