Lahore, January 5, 2025:
The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has reported a 45 percent reduction in heinous crime–related calls in December 2025 compared to January 2025, attributing the improvement to enhanced surveillance, advanced technology and proactive policing.
According to a PSCA spokesperson, continuous upgrades in monitoring systems, improved emergency response and coordinated law enforcement operations have significantly strengthened public safety across Punjab.
During 2025, Emergency Helpline 15 received 13.8 million calls, including 2.85 million related to registered cases and 1.49 million for public guidance. However, the authority also received 8.6 million hoax calls, which officials described as a serious challenge to emergency service delivery.
PSCA urged citizens to avoid false calls, warning that misuse can delay responses to genuine emergencies and endanger lives. The authority reaffirmed its commitment to a safer Punjab through technology-driven policing and public cooperation.
