Quetta, January 6: Secretary Agriculture Balochistan, Noor Ahmed Parkani, chaired a key meeting ahead of the Pak-China Agricultural Investment Conference scheduled for January 19 in Islamabad. The session reviewed the province’s agricultural potential, including dates, apples, cotton, dry fruits, apricots, tomatoes, onions, and olives. Officials discussed opportunities for value addition, processing, and packaging, as well as investment prospects in fertilizers, seeds, agrochemicals, and corporate farming. The conference aims to attract Chinese joint ventures and create sustainable business opportunities. The meeting also highlighted engagement with the Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Small Business Chamber, Farmers’ Action Committees, and Pakistan Kisan Union to facilitate B2B interactions, ensuring long-term sectoral growth and economic stability. The initiative is expected to strengthen Balochistan’s role in domestic and international agricultural trade while creating employment and boosting exports.
