Anti-Corruption Establishment Seeks Records in Probe Against Balochistan Sports Department

The Directorate of Inquiries and Anti-Corruption Establishment Balochistan has formally initiated an investigation into the Sports and Youth Affairs Department, seeking detailed records over allegations of illegal fund manipulation and misuse of authority.
According to anti-corruption officials, a complaint alleges that funds allocated for various purposes since January 1, 2024, were misappropriated through fraudulent practices and abuse of official powers. Acting on the directions of Deputy Director Sheikh Munir Ahmed, the department has been instructed to submit comprehensive documentation.
The requested records include event calendars, details of teams and athletes, performance statistics, financial and budgetary statements, procurement data, reports on facilities and equipment, governance and compliance records, as well as evidence of media coverage and promotional activities.
The Secretary Sports has been directed to provide the verified documents without delay to facilitate timely completion of the inquiry. Declaring the matter urgent, the Anti-Corruption Establishment emphasized that transparency and accountability would be ensured, and any irregularities found during the investigation would be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law.
