Balochistan Food Authority Fines 22 Food Outlets in Quetta Over Hygiene Violations

The Balochistan Food Authority (BFA) has intensified inspections across Quetta, imposing fines on 22 food outlets for violating food safety and hygiene regulations. The action is part of an ongoing campaign to ensure safe and quality food for the public.
According to BFA officials, inspection teams checked 71 food points, including hotels, fast-food corners, and pizza outlets, across multiple areas of the city. Severe violations were found at 18 hotels, one pizza outlet, and two fast-food points, leading to fines and legal action.
Inspectors identified the use of substandard cooking oil, repeated use of oil, banned Chinese salt, unhygienic storage, pest infestations, and absence of food business licences. Several outlets were also found using harmful food colours and low-quality ingredients.
Additionally, 21 food points were issued improvement notices for minor violations. Inspections were conducted in areas including Kuchlak Bypass, Prince Road, Hazara Town, Hazar Ganji, Satellite Town, Pashtoonabad, and Airport Road. BFA warned that strict enforcement would continue.
