Loralai, Jan 08:
Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (PkNAP) Loralai district spokesperson on Thursday accused an organized wagon transport mafia of exploiting passengers on the Loralai–Qila Saifullah route, causing severe hardship for the public. The spokesperson said commuters are being forced to travel in outdated, unsafe, and dilapidated vehicles, which is unacceptable in the modern era.
According to the statement, passengers have no alternative transport options and are compelled to pay exorbitant fares, often amounting to thousands of rupees instead of officially notified rates. The situation, the party claimed, reflects either patronage by powerful elements or the failure of relevant civil authorities.
The spokesperson demanded immediate action by the Provincial Transport Authority, Commissioner Loralai, and Commissioner Zhob Division to dismantle the wagon mafia and ensure provision of safe, modern, and affordable transport facilities.
Warning of consequences, PkNAP stated that if the public is not relieved from this exploitation, the party will launch a legal struggle and public movement. Responsibility for any unrest, it added, would rest with state institutions and the transport mafia.
