Karachi, January 12, 2026:
Chairperson Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid, visited Lyari today and met Senator Yousaf Baloch, Sindh Government spokesperson MPA Sadia Javed, MPA Shazia Karim Sanghar, and other dignitaries at Baloch Hall. Senator Khalid highlighted the new Social Protection Wallets system, providing women direct, full, and dignified payments via free SIMs issued at BISP offices and official camps.
She launched the Benazir Hunarmand Program for vocational training of women and their families, and reaffirmed education and health initiatives, including Taleemi Wazaif and maternal-child programs. Beneficiaries were urged to report any fraud or illegal demands. Current BISP installments are Rs. 13,500, soon increasing to Rs. 14,500.
Senator Khalid stressed women’s empowerment and active safeguarding of rights, aligning with PPP leadership directives.
