Sibi: A female Quran teacher was shot dead by unidentified armed assailants near a school gate in Sibi on Thursday, triggering fear and panic in the area. According to initial reports, the attackers opened fire and fled the scene immediately after the incident. Police reached the spot soon after, cordoned off the area, and launched an investigation, while efforts are underway to trace the suspects.
In a separate development, the District Health Officer (DHO) Washuk, Dr Muhammad Akbar Rind, has been suspended over allegations of illegally selling government-issued medicines in local markets. The Additional Secretary (Development), Health Department, Saqib Kakar, has appointed an inquiry officer and directed that a detailed investigation report be submitted within one week.
