Islamabad, Jan 16 — The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted nine operations across the country, arresting eight suspects, including an Afghan national, and seizing 6,608.3 kilograms of drugs worth over Rs 508.9 million.
A major operation near Chungi No. 26, Islamabad, led to the recovery of 9.6 kg of hashish. The suspect confessed to supplying narcotics to students of educational institutions. In international interdictions, ANF recovered 150 grams of cannabis from a UK-origin parcel at a Rawalpindi courier office, while 5 kg of ice and 5 kg of opium concealed in an oven were seized in Lahore.
Domestic operations yielded 10 kg heroin in Karachi, multiple seizures in Multan, Gilgit and Peshawar, and a massive 6,571 kg haul of hashish from Nokundi,
Balochistan. Cases have been registered under the CNSA-1997.
