KARACHI: A delegation of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi, led by Ameer Munaim Zafar Khan, called on the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Karachi, Akbar Eissa Zadeh, and congratulated him on his appointment.

During the meeting, the JI leadership condemned what they termed as United States interference in Iran’s internal affairs and expressed solidarity with the Iranian leadership and people.

Munaim Zafar Khan reiterated Jamaat-e-Islami’s support for Iran, stating that the party has stood by Iran in both challenging and stable times, and emphasized Iran’s role in promoting Islamic unity, particularly its support for Palestine.

Consul General Akbar Eissa Zadeh welcomed the delegation and spoke about the impact of US-led sanctions on Iran, noting that economic pressure has contributed to inflation and protests, which, he said, have been kept under control. He stressed the importance of strengthening Pakistan-Iran relations and called for enhanced cultural and economic cooperation, appreciating Jamaat-e-Islami’s social welfare initiatives in Karachi.
