Bangladesh has refused to grant a visa to an Indian official accompanying the ICC delegation visiting for T20 World Cup venue inspections. The two-member team included Andrew Apehgrue, Head of Anti-Corruption and Security, and a senior Indian executive. While Apehgrue received clearance, the Indian officer was denied entry. The delegation aimed to review venues and discuss potential changes to ensure security and smooth operations during the tournament. Bangladesh had earlier announced that matches would not be held in India due to safety concerns. The decision underlines the country’s commitment to hosting a secure international cricket event while highlighting the complexities of sports diplomacy in the region. ICC officials are set to continue their inspections and coordination with local authorities to ensure tournament readiness.
