Quetta, January 17 — The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Quetta has arrested a retired government employee allegedly involved in human smuggling and large-scale visa fraud. The accused, identified as Muhammad Ismail, was apprehended during a targeted raid conducted on the basis of secret information.
According to FIA officials, the suspect used social media platforms to lure citizens with false promises of overseas employment and settlement. Investigators revealed that Muhammad Ismail deceived a local resident by offering to arrange travel to Australia and fraudulently obtained Rs5.5 million in multiple installments. After receiving the money, the accused provided the victim with a fake Australian e-visa, which later turned out to be forged.
FIA sources confirmed that the suspect had been operating an organized network involved in migrant smuggling and visa fraud for an extended period. Following his arrest, a formal investigation has been launched to trace accomplices and uncover the full extent of the network. The agency stated that further raids are underway to arrest other individuals connected to the illegal operation.
