BAKHTIARABAD: Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs Sanjay Kumar Punjwani was robbed by armed assailants on the National Highway in the Nasirabad area on Friday, officials said.
According to Levies officials, the incident occurred within the limits of Police Station Notal while the minister was returning to Dera Murad Jamali after visiting Bhag Nari and Bakhtiarabad. Armed robbers intercepted the convoy, snatched weapons from the minister’s security guards, and looted mobile phones and other valuables from the minister and his companions.
The SHO Levies Bakhtiarabad confirmed that the attackers managed to flee after the incident. Law enforcement agencies launched a search operation and set up checkpoints in the surrounding areas to trace the suspects.
No arrests had been reported till the filing of this report.
