Russian President Vladimir Putin has described relations between Russia and Pakistan as genuinely mutually beneficial, highlighting growing cooperation across multiple sectors. His remarks came as Pakistan’s Ambassador to Russia, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, presented his diplomatic credentials in Moscow.
President Putin said Russia values close engagement with Pakistan, noting Islamabad’s full membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), one of the largest regional organizations in Eurasia. He emphasized that bilateral ties continue to strengthen through diplomatic dialogue and economic collaboration.
Ambassador Tirmizi stated that cooperation between Pakistan and Russia is expanding in trade, energy, and regional connectivity. He also stressed the importance of maintaining strong links with the Pakistani community residing in Russia.
Both sides expressed commitment to deepening partnerships and exploring new avenues for collaboration. Observers say improving Russia-Pakistan relations reflect shifting regional dynamics and shared interests in regional stability, counterterrorism efforts, and economic development.
