SEHWAN/WAHUR: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will not accept any reduction in provinces’ shares under the NFC Award.
He emphasised that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will not accept any reduction in provinces’ shares under the NFC Award. He expressed these views while speaking to the media in Sehwan.
Speaking to the media in his native village Wahur , the Chief Minister said terrorists are trying to raise their heads again, but security forces remain fully alert. He revealed that exactly two weeks ago, a major terrorism plot was thwarted in Karachi, during which explosives and sensitive materials were recovered. He added that threats of terrorism persist across Sindh and the country, but a comprehensive strategy has been devised in collaboration with security agencies and intelligence bodies to defeat terrorism.
On the NFC Award, the CM noted that the National Finance Commission committee has been formed, and various proposals are under consideration. He clarified the PPP’s firm stance, saying there should be no reduction in provinces’ shares under the NFC Award, and all provinces must receive their due rights.
He highlighted that Sindh has increased its revenue through sales tax and services, and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) must also boost its collections. The PPP will support any decision in the national interest.
Regarding the Nader Jamali case in Dadu, the CM said the provincial Home Minister is personally monitoring it, ensuring transparent investigations.
Earlier, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah visited his mother’s mausoleum in Sehwan on her death anniversary, offered prayers, and recited Fatiha. Afterward, he went to the shrine of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar to review arrangements for the upcoming urs celebrations.
The CM said he is personally overseeing the urs preparations and directed the administration to provide all possible facilities to pilgrims, ensuring foolproof security and other arrangements.
