Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned that Ukraine faces an increasing risk of large-scale Russian air attacks and urgently requires advanced air defense systems to protect civilian areas. Speaking ahead of a diplomatic visit to the United States, Zelensky said continued Russian strikes pose serious threats to urban centers and critical infrastructure.
According to foreign media reports, a Ukrainian delegation led by President Zelensky traveled to the United States to discuss security guarantees and military assistance. A meeting between Zelensky and US President Donald Trump is expected on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum.
Zelensky stressed that air defense capabilities remain a top priority for Ukraine, particularly as missile and drone attacks have intensified. He urged international allies to expand military support and accelerate the delivery of defensive systems to help safeguard civilians.
The Ukrainian president emphasized that defending Ukraine is not only vital for national survival but also for broader regional stability. He warned that delayed assistance could embolden further aggression, calling for coordinated international action to deter future attacks.
