Khuzdar Hosts Free Two-Day Eye Camp to Provide Specialized Treatment to Hundreds

Khuzdar, Jan 19: A two-day free eye medical camp was launched today at Jhalawan Teaching Hospital in Khuzdar under the supervision of FC Kalat Scouts, offering specialized eye care to hundreds of residents from across the district.
Karachi-based ophthalmologists, Dr. Abrar and Dr. Zahid Hussain, are providing treatments, surgeries, and operations, including free cataract procedures, to ensure accessible care for patients with visual impairments. The initiative has drawn large crowds from Khuzdar and surrounding areas.
Supported by the Society for the Prevention and Cure of Blindness (SPCB) and APWA Shireen Bano Eye Hospital, Karachi, the camp was inaugurated by an elderly woman who cut the ribbon to officially commence the event. FC Kalat Scouts Commandant Colonel Irfan inspected the camp, visited the OPD, and engaged with both medical staff and patients.
Hospital officials, including Director Dr. Afiaz Ali, Major Haris, MS Jhalawan Teaching Hospital Sarmad Saeed, and Dr. Abrar, were present, highlighting the collaborative effort to deliver high-quality eye care to underserved communities. The camp underscores a commitment to improving health access and supporting residents in need of specialized ophthalmic services.
